What are Frameless Doors made from? Frameless Doors have 3 components:
1) A frame which can be made out of Aluminum or Wood. Aluminum is more common due to its slimmer profile and higher strength to weight ratio than wood. However, wood is still valuable for its easy of making adjustments - it is just better to work with as any carpenter will tell you. 2) A Door Panel or Slab which is usually Wood but could also be PVC or Steel. Door Panels can have a variety of thicknesses but are usually Solid Core 1 3/4" (44mm) Hardboard Doors. 3) Frameless Door Hinges which are usually made out of some metal combination. Satin Chrome or Satin Nickel are popular Finishes for these types of hinges. They vary in size from 3" in length to 8" for the very heavy duty types.

How Frameless Interior Doors Work Framelees Interior Doors work with 2 kind of systems:
1) Pivot Hinges which are fastened at the top and bottom corners of the door. They connect to the header and the floor. It is a nice system but not the most common type of installation of Frameless Doors. 2) Hidden Hinges are more common and are attached in the same locations that you would normally find regular butt hinges. These hinges are generally 3-D adjustable and work well with most door sizes and thicknesses. The frame is always invisible once mudded into the wall with drywall compound. The door and wall will be painted in the same colour to give the impression that the wall continues and the door is almost hidden.
